Muhammad Asif beats India’s Chandra to reach IBSF World Masters final
Double Delight for Pakistan as Mohammad Asif and Hasnain Akhtar Win IBSF Titles in Bahrain
Manama, Bahrain — Pakistan’s seasoned cueist Muhammad Asif has advanced to the final of the Masters category at the IBSF World Snooker Championships 2025, after a 4-2 semifinal win over India’s Manan Chandra on Thursday.
Asif Eyes Fourth World Title
The 42-year-old star from Faisalabad, who is already a three-time IBSF World Amateur Champion (2012, 2019, 2024), kicked off the match in dominant fashion with a 118-6 win in the opening frame. Despite losing the next two frames, Asif staged a strong comeback and clinched three consecutive frames, sealing a 4-2 victory.
He now prepares to take on India’s Brijesh Damani in the championship match scheduled for Friday at 6:00 PM local time (8:00 PM PST) in Manama, Bahrain.
The International Billiards & Snooker Federation (IBSF) confirmed the final lineup via Instagram.
Hasnain Akhtar Reaches U17 Final
Pakistan had more reason to celebrate as Hasnain Akhtar, one of the country’s rising stars, booked a spot in the final of the IBSF World U17 Snooker Championship. He outclassed Poland’s Oliwier Nizialek with a clean 4-0 win in the semifinal.
Championship Details
The IBSF World Snooker Championships 2025 are being held in Manama, Bahrain, from July 13 to July 24, featuring top talent in both the Masters and Youth divisions.
Asif, a recipient of the Pride of Performance Award (2015), now stands one match away from adding a fourth world title to his decorated career.
