Pakistan Condemns Israel’s Illegal Autonomy Claim Over Occupied West Bank, Calls for Global Accountability
Islamabad – Pakistan has strongly condemned the Israeli parliament’s illegal claim to grant autonomy to the occupied West Bank, urging the international community to hold Israel accountable for this move.
In a statement from the Pakistani Foreign Office, it was said that this regrettable step is a serious violation of international laws and reflects Israel’s continued disregard for the rights of the Palestinian people and international principles.
The statement highlighted that such provocative and deliberate measures by the occupying power aim to sabotage peace efforts and strengthen its illegal occupation. It warned that these unilateral actions pose a threat not only to regional stability but also to the possibility of achieving a just and lasting solution to the Palestinian issue.
Pakistan called on the international community to take immediate and decisive steps to hold Israel accountable for breaching United Nations Security Council resolutions and international humanitarian law. It emphasized that these actions are unacceptable and cannot alter the internationally recognized status of the occupied Palestinian territories.
Reaffirming its unwavering support for the Palestinian people’s inalienable right to self-determination, Pakistan pledged full backing for the establishment of a free, sovereign, and viable Palestinian state based on the pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif (Jerusalem) as its capital, in line with relevant United Nations resolutions.
