BISP’s role in youth growth: Training, jobs, and new ideas

Over half of Pakistan’s population is under the age of 30. That means our future depends on the success of our youth. But many young people—especially in poor or rural areas—don’t get the tools or chances they need to grow.

To change this, the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) is now focusing on youth training and empowerment, not just financial help. This step is helping young people learn useful skills and find jobs—or even start their own businesses.

What Skills Are Being Taught?

BISP’s training programs focus on real-life skills that help young people earn money. These include:

• Computer and typing skills

• Mobile phone repair, plumbing, electrician work

Who Can Join?

The programs are for young men and women (ages 18–35) from low-income families already registered with BISP. Students get:

Once training is done, BISP helps youth take the next step:

• Job Matching: Linking students with companies
