Pakistan to Set Up Separate Airport Counters for Foreigners

On the instructions of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan has decided to establish separate immigration counters for foreign nationals at all international airports across the country.

Boost to Tourism and Investment

According to the PM Office Media Wing, “The decision has been taken to promote tourism in Pakistan, ensuring continuity in business activities and providing further facilitation to the foreign investment.”

Faster Processing for All Travelers

These dedicated counters will help reduce immigration wait times at airports. With foreign passengers using their own designated counters, returning Pakistani citizens will also benefit from faster immigration processing.

Improving Global Image of Pakistan

The statement further added, “Government’s initiative is part of a strategy to make Pakistan more attractive and friendly for the global tourists, investors, and business delegations.”

Cultural Tourism Also Promoted

In addition to facilitating business travel and investment, the government hopes the initiative will also encourage more cultural tours and tourism across Pakistan.
