PIA Privatization Process Gains Momentum

Islamabad: The privatization process of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has accelerated further.

According to sources, representatives of various companies will visit the PIA Head Office in Karachi starting next Monday as part of the privatization process.

PIA officials have received the detailed schedule of the visiting company representatives, sources said.

In the first phase, Air Blue and the Arif Habib Consortium will inspect aircraft at the PIA Head Office and the Isphahani Hangar in Karachi.

The Fauji Fertilizer and Lucky Group Consortium will also be taken on a tour of the PIA Head Office and Isphahani Hangar.

The visit will include briefings on PIA’s air service agreements, operational routes, revenue generation, and employee structure.

Relevant departments of PIA have been instructed to make comprehensive arrangements for the visit of the interested consortia.

Officials from the Ministry of Privatization will also accompany the company representatives during the visit.
