BISP PMT Score Criteria August 2025 – Who Qualifies and How to Check Eligibility
In August 2025, the Government of Pakistan updated the eligibility criteria for the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), introducing a new PMT (Poverty Means Test) system. This move ensures financial aid reaches the most deserving families based on accurate socio-economic data rather than assumptions or favoritism.
What is PMT Score?
The Poverty Means Test (PMT) is a system that evaluates a household’s financial condition. It uses indicators such as:
- Monthly income
- Number of dependents
- Health and education status
- Employment
- Type of housing
- Ownership of land or vehicles
“The lower the PMT score, the higher the chances that the family is struggling financially—and therefore qualifies for BISP support.”
PMT Score Criteria – August 2025
Eligible for BISP:
- PMT score below 32
- Households below the poverty line
- Unemployed women-led families
- Disabled individuals without income
- Daily wage earners
- Families in underdeveloped areas
Not Eligible:
- PMT score above 37
- Government employees or pensioners
- Stable monthly income above PKR 30,000
- Owners of land, cars, or multiple utilities
- Existing beneficiaries of other aid programs
How the Score Is Determined
The score is calculated through the NSER (National Socio-Economic Registry) system. Surveys collect household data, which is processed to assign a score from 0 to 100.

BISP is now prioritizing underserved communities in:
- Interior Sindh (river and desert zones)
