Chief of Pakistan Navy Admiral Naveed Ashraf Awarded Turkey’s Highest Military Honor
Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf has been awarded with Turkey’s highest military honor.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of Pakistan Army, Chief of Pakistan Navy Admiral Naveed Ashraf was awarded the “Legion of Merit of the Turkish Armed Forces.”
ISPR stated that upon arrival at the Turkish Naval Forces Headquarters, the Chief of Pakistan Navy was presented with a guard of honor. Admiral Naveed Ashraf also met with the Commander of the Turkish Naval Forces.
The ISPR added that during the meeting, discussions were held on bilateral naval cooperation and matters of mutual interest. The Naval Chief also held meetings with the Turkish Minister of Defense, Chief of General Staff, and Commander of the Turkish Navy Fleet.
According to ISPR, the meetings emphasized regional maritime security, defense partnership, joint exercises, and the enhancement of training capabilities.
To review Pakistan Navy’s Milgem project, the Chief of Pakistan Navy visited the Istanbul Naval Shipyard. During his visit to the Golcuk Naval Base, Admiral Naveed Ashraf observed the submarine construction capabilities.
The Naval Chief toured several naval installations, including a Turkish ship, and laid a floral wreath at the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. The visit of the Chief of Pakistan Navy to Turkey is expected to further enhance naval cooperation between the two brotherly countries.
