Kuwait Reopens Visas for Pakistanis After 19 Years – Requirements & Deadline (Aug 2025 Update)
In a major development, Kuwait has reopened its doors to Pakistani workers by lifting a 19-year visa ban earlier this year. As reported by the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), the Gulf country officially removed visa restrictions in May and has since resumed issuing work, family, business, and tourist visas to Pakistani nationals. This move is seen as a significant step in restoring the flow of skilled labor from Pakistan to Kuwait.
The visa ban had originally been imposed on citizens from Pakistan, Iran, Syria, and Afghanistan due to security-related concerns.
Every year, thousands of Pakistanis seek employment opportunities abroad — particularly in the Gulf, Europe, and the United States — with remittances from overseas workers playing a vital role in strengthening Pakistan’s foreign reserves, especially during its ongoing economic challenges.
With the lifting of the ban, the Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC), operating under the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development (OP&HRD), will resume facilitating the deployment of skilled labor to Kuwait.
According to state media, there are currently job openings for the role of Warehouse Supervisor in Kuwait. Eligible applicants must be under 35 years old, hold a diploma or bachelor’s degree, and demonstrate fluency in English. Candidates should also possess strong customer service skills and have prior experience in retail warehouses or logistics.
In addition to Warehouse Supervisors, other available positions include Warehouse Coordinators, Warehouse Men, Carpenters, Unskilled Laborers, Assistant Furniture Installers, and Drivers.
The deadline for submitting application documents is August 15, 2025.
