Rain expected in many parts of Pakistan today

Rain is expected in many parts of Pakistan today, according to the Meteorological Department. Some areas in Punjab may also see rain during the next 24 hours.

There is a chance of heavy rain with thunder and lightning in Islamabad, upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Kashmir. Meanwhile, in Karachi and other coastal areas of Sindh, the weather will stay partly cloudy, with the possibility of light rain or drizzle in some places.

A spokesperson from the Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) said that most districts in Punjab could experience rain in the next 24 hours. However, they are keeping a close eye on the situation.

The spokesperson also shared that the water levels in rivers at Tarbela, Kalabagh, Chashma, and Taunsa are normal. Currently, Tarbela Dam is 96% full, and Mangla Dam is 62% full.

Earlier, heavy rain in Islamabad and Karachi made the weather pleasant. Light rain and drizzle were reported in Karachi on Monday night. On Tuesday morning, clouds covered many parts of the city, leading to a drop in temperature and humidity.
