Hamas Approves Proposed Gaza Ceasefire Deal

Hamas Approves Proposed Gaza Ceasefire Deal
Doha – The Palestinian resistance group Hamas has approved a proposed ceasefire agreement in Gaza, according to reports by international news agencies.
Reuters, citing Egyptian sources, reported that Hamas accepted a ceasefire deal presented by mediators from Egypt and Qatar. The proposed agreement includes a 60-day truce in Gaza.
As part of the deal:
Hamas will release half of the Israeli hostages currently held in Gaza.
In return, Israel will release several Palestinian prisoners from its jails.
Al Jazeera, citing Hamas sources, also confirmed that the group has agreed to the latest proposal presented by mediators on the previous day.
However, Al Jazeera noted that based on past experiences, approval by Hamas does not guarantee an end to the war, as Israel has previously rejected similar agreements.
Over the past two years, Hamas has approved multiple ceasefire and hostage-exchange proposals, but Israel chose to continue military operations, rejecting the terms.
The situation remains uncertain as the final response from Israel is awaited.
