Who is Honey Bhaskaran? Malayalam writer accuses Rahul Mamkootathil

Kerala – Thursday, August 21, 2025: Malayalam writer Honey Bhaskaran has accused Congress MLA Rahul Mamkootathil, who is also the Kerala Youth Congress president, of making obscene remarks and twisting her conversations in a vulgar manner. The allegations came just a day after Malayalam actor Rini Ann George accused a young politician of sending her offensive messages.

Honey Bhaskaran said Rahul first contacted her on social media. Later, he told others that she had messaged him first and misrepresented their chat in a lewd way. She alleged that Rahul often talks about women he has chatted with and makes fun of them in front of his male friends.

“This is not just bad behaviour, this is a kind of psychological perversion,” Honey told reporters.

The writer also claimed that Rahul has contacted many other women, including some of her friends. According to her, he uses the same pattern with every woman, telling each of them that she is the “only one” he loves while saying the same to others.

She further alleged that despite complaints, Congress MP Shafi Parambil has not taken any action and continues to protect Rahul. Honey ruled out filing a police case but challenged Rahul to file a defamation case if he believes she is wrong.

Earlier this week, actress Rini Ann George, known for her role in 916 Kunjoottan, said a young politician had sent her inappropriate messages. She did not reveal the name but explained that she received them three years ago. Rini said the politician even invited her to meet him, and when she warned him about reporting, he showed a “who cares” attitude.

Rini stressed that she was not physically assaulted but spoke up after hearing that other women also faced harassment.

Rahul Mamkootathil, however, denied the allegations and said Rini’s complaint was not about him. He maintained that the actress never mentioned his name.

The controversy has now put pressure on the Congress party in Kerala as more women may come forward with complaints.
