President Forms 11th National Finance Commission with Participation of All Four Provinces

President Asif Ali Zardari has constituted the 11th National Finance Commission (NFC).

The finance minister will serve as the chairperson of the commission, while the finance ministers of all four provinces and one expert from each province have also been included as members. In total, the commission will have nine members.

From Punjab, Nasir Mehmood Khosa; from Sindh, Asad Saeed; from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Dr. Musharraf Rasool; and from Balochistan, Farmanullah will serve as experts in the commission.

The Ministry of Finance has also issued the notification regarding the formation of the commission along with its Terms of Reference (TORs).

According to the TORs, the NFC will submit recommendations to the president regarding the distribution of net taxes between the federation and the provinces. It will also formulate proposals concerning the preparation of grants-in-aid to be provided by the federation to the provinces.
