PDMA Reports Normal River Flow in Punjab, Some Flooding
Punjab Flooding Situation Improves, Water Flow in Punjab Rivers Returning to Normal
LAHORE: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab has confirmed that water flow across most river points in the province is normal, with only a few areas facing moderate flood conditions.
According to PDMA, the flow at Tarbela has been recorded at 196,000 cusecs, while Kalabagh is seeing 169,000 cusecs. At Chashma, the water flow stands at 178,000 cusecs, and at Taunsa, it is 161,000 cusecs. Other points with normal flow include Head Marala at 56,000 cusecs, Khanki at 68,000 cusecs, Qadirabad at 75,000 cusecs, and Trimmu at 80,000 cusecs.
In the Ravi River, the flow at Jassar is 8,000 cusecs and at Shahdara it is 10,000 cusecs. Balloki is currently seeing 29,000 cusecs and Sidhnai 23,000 cusecs, both of which are within the normal range.
However, moderate flooding has been reported at a few points. These include Panjnad, where the flow is 234,000 cusecs, Ganda Singh Wala at 101,000 cusecs, and Head Islam with 81,000 cusecs.
At Suleimanki, a low-level flood is being observed with a current flow of 90,000 cusecs.
The PDMA has said that the situation is under control and being closely monitored. Local authorities have been placed on alert, especially in areas facing increased water flow. Residents in low-lying or flood-prone regions have been advised to stay cautious and follow updates from official channels.
