MDCAT Exam to be Conducted Based on Candidates Domicile; Dedicated Exam Centers Announced

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has announced that the MDCAT exam for admission to medical and dental colleges will be conducted strictly according to candidates’ domiciles. Students will be required to take the test in their own province and will not be permitted to appear in any other province.

According to a report from a leading national newspaper, universities across all four provinces and Islamabad have been approved as exam centers. These include IBA Sukkur, Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences Quetta, and Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University in Islamabad.

Candidates from Sindh and Balochistan will be provided a dedicated exam center in Islamabad. Meanwhile, students domiciled in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will take the test at their respective university centers.

The Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University centers in Islamabad will also accommodate candidates from Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and all four provinces, with seats allocated according to established quotas.

PMDC emphasized that a valid domicile of the relevant province is mandatory for admission to medical and dental colleges. Additionally, seats have been reserved for residents of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan in Pakistani medical and dental institutions.

In light of the recent nationwide flood situation and under the directive of Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal, the PMDC has postponed the MDCAT exam. Originally scheduled for October 5, 2025, the exam will now take place on October 26, 2025 (Sunday).
