Maryam Nawaz Meets HOPE Children’s Cancer Center Delegation Led by German Oncologist
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz met with a high-level delegation from HOPE Children’s Cancer Center, headed by renowned German pediatric oncologist and Director Dr. Stephan Michael, to discuss collaborative efforts in advancing pediatric cancer treatment in the province.
During the meeting, both sides reached a principled agreement on cooperation between German institutions and the Government of Punjab to enhance cancer care for children.
Dr. Stephan Michael praised the Punjab government’s initiatives in improving healthcare services and commended its focus on children’s oncology.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz highlighted that Punjab is the first region to introduce Ablation Cancer Treatment, a modern and less invasive cancer therapy. She further shared that the Nawaz Sharif Cancer Hospital in Lahore is rapidly nearing completion and is set to become the largest and most advanced cancer treatment facility in Pakistan.
“We greatly appreciate the support of institutions like HOPE Children’s Cancer Center,” said Maryam Nawaz. “We welcome the introduction of German technology in pediatric oncology and look forward to the positive outcomes of joint training programs with German experts.”
The meeting marks a significant step toward international collaboration in healthcare, particularly in the field of pediatric cancer treatment. Both sides expressed optimism about the potential impact on patient care and medical training in the province.
