Strong Earthquake Tremors Jolt Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Parts of KP

ISLAMABAD, September 26, 2025: Earthquake tremors were felt in several cities of Pakistan, including the federal capital Islamabad and Rawalpindi, on Friday evening. The jolts created panic in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as residents rushed out of homes and offices.

Tremors Across Punjab and KP

According to details, the quake shook multiple areas. People in Peshawar, Swat, Upper Dir, Attock, and Chitral also reported strong tremors. Frightened residents came out of buildings, gathering in open spaces. Many were seen reciting Kalma Tayyaba as the shocks continued.

Magnitude and Epicenter

The Seismological Center confirmed that the earthquake had a magnitude of 5.5 on the Richter scale. Its depth was measured at 195 kilometers underground. Officials said the epicenter was located in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan, a seismic zone known for frequent earthquakes.

No Casualties Reported

Despite the intensity, authorities confirmed that no casualties or major damage were reported. Emergency services remained on alert, while monitoring teams continued to assess the situation in affected areas.
