World Teachers’ Day: PM, President Salute Educators
Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to teachers across Pakistan on World Teachers’ Day, praising their dedication and vital role in shaping the nation.
President Zardari said that teaching is not just a job — it’s a sacred responsibility. He praised teachers working in both cities and villages, saying their hard work in spreading knowledge, even in tough conditions, makes them the “real capital of the nation.”
He also highlighted the need to support teachers with modern training and digital tools, so they can meet the challenges of today’s education system.
“Respecting teachers is the responsibility of the whole nation,” he said.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called teachers the foundation of a country’s progress. He said this year’s theme, “Teaching as Mutual Cooperation and a Common Profession,” shows the importance of working together in education worldwide.
He said teachers, parents, and society all share the duty of educating and guiding children.
The prime minister promised that the government is working to improve teachers’ salaries, training, and working conditions. He said upgrading schools with modern technology is a top priority.
“I offer my deepest respect to all teachers,” Shehbaz said. “They are the true builders of our nation’s future.”
