ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has announced a special traffic diversion plan for Friday to manage movement around Faizabad, as several roads in the federal capital remain closed due to a protest.

Authorities have requested citizens to use alternate routes to avoid inconvenience. According to official updates, the entry of heavy vehicles into Islamabad will stay suspended until further notice, while diversions for light traffic have been set up at different locations.

Key Diversions:

  • Rawal Dam Chowk: Traffic from Bhara Kahu, Murree, and Islamabad heading to Rawalpindi should use Park Road, Tramri Chowk, Lehtrar Road, Khanna, and the Expressway. Those going to the Airport are advised to use Kashmir Chowk and Srinagar Highway.

  • Garden Flyover: Vehicles from both sides toward Faizabad will be diverted. Residents of I-8 should use Zero Point, Srinagar Highway, Club Road, and Park Road.

  • Khanna Pull (Expressway): Traffic from both sides toward Faizabad will be diverted through Lehtrar Road, Tramri Chowk, Park Road, and Rawal Dam Chowk.

  • Ninth Avenue / IJP Road: Vehicles should use Gohar Shaheed Chowk, Faqir Aipee Road, or Srinagar Highway. Alternatively, they can take CDA Double Road via I-10 Service Road to Ninth Avenue.

  • Zero Point: Traffic from Zero Point toward Faizabad and Faisal Avenue will be redirected via Srinagar Highway and Ninth Avenue.

Residents of F-8, F-9, F-10, F-11, G-10, and G-11 sectors can use Golra Mor through Srinagar Highway to travel toward Rawalpindi.

The ITP has urged drivers to stay updated on traffic advisories and plan their routes accordingly.
