President Zardari Extends Diwali Greetings to Hindu Community
Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has extended warm greetings to the Hindu community in Pakistan and around the world on the occasion of Diwali.
In his message, the President said that Diwali symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil. He emphasized that this festival reminds us of universal values such as peace, tolerance, compassion, and harmony.
President Zardari reaffirmed that the Constitution of Pakistan guarantees equal rights and complete religious freedom to all citizens. He said it is our collective responsibility to uphold a society where people of all faiths can live with dignity and respect.
He also highlighted the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, who imagined a Pakistan where minorities would enjoy equal rights and freedom.
“The Hindu community is an important part of Pakistan’s social, cultural, and economic fabric,” the President said. He appreciated the valuable contributions of the Hindu community in the fields of education, trade, and public service.
President Zardari concluded by saying that Diwali inspires us to renew our commitment to tolerance, unity, and peaceful coexistence. He prayed for happiness, peace, and prosperity for the Hindu community in Pakistan and abroad.
