Government announced major relief for MDCAT applicants
Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal has announced that the long-standing issue of out-of-syllabus questions in the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) has been fully resolved. This decision removes a major concern for thousands of aspiring medical students across Pakistan.
Speaking to the media, the minister said that after discussions with vice chancellors from all four provinces, a uniform question paper has been finalized for the national entrance exam.
He explained that a question bank of 3,000 questions has been created. From this, each province will receive three separate question papers and will have the option to select any one for the test.
“The controversy over out-of-syllabus questions has finally ended,” Kamal said. “This step will ensure transparency, fairness, and equal opportunity for all students.”
The minister also clarified that the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) will handle the syllabus and question bank, while provincial authorities will be held responsible if any paper leak occurs.
According to official data, the MDCAT 2025 will be held on October 26, with 140,125 candidates set to appear. There will be 35 examination centers across Pakistan and one international center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
