13 July, 2026 13:47

A major alleged corruption scandal has surfaced in the Sindh Education Department involving the misuse of the school-specific budget, with allegations of fake bills and illegal commissions coming to light.

According to officials, suspended education department employee Muhammad Ali allegedly established a private company and became a vendor for schools, providing supplies through the department’s school-specific budget system.

Sources claimed that Muhammad Ali prepared fake bills showing the supply of various items to schools. The allegations further suggest that separate fake bills were also prepared to include commissions for himself and district education officers.

After the alleged fake billing record surfaced, the Sindh Education Department decided to take action against Muhammad Ali and investigate the matter.

Officials stated that no form of corruption would be tolerated in the school-specific budget system and strict action would be taken against those found involved in financial irregularities.

It was further reported that Muhammad Ali had previously been removed from his position as a headmaster and was transferred to the education department after allegations related to facilitating cheating during matriculation examinations.

The department has initiated proceedings to determine the extent of the alleged financial irregularities and identify other individuals who may have been involved.
