PM Shehbaz Sharif Invites Qatari Investment Under SIFC Framework

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday urged Qatari investors to take advantage of opportunities in Pakistan under the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) framework. He emphasized that Pakistan’s new investor-friendly policies make it an ideal destination for trade and investment.

The Prime Minister made these remarks during a meeting with Qatar’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal Al-Thani, who is currently in Islamabad to co-chair the 6th Session of the Pakistan-Qatar Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC).

Focus on Strengthening Bilateral Ties

During the meeting, PM Shehbaz highlighted the growing importance of Pakistan-Qatar relations, rooted in shared values and mutual trust. He noted that both countries enjoy strong cooperation in various fields and that it is time to take this partnership to the next level.

“Pakistan offers vast opportunities for investment in energy, agriculture, food security, information technology, tourism, and infrastructure,” Shehbaz said.

He also praised Qatar for its continuous support and described it as a key regional partner and mediator.

Qatar Reaffirms Commitment to Economic Cooperation

Conveying greetings from the Qatari leadership, Sheikh Faisal reaffirmed Qatar’s interest in expanding economic engagement with Pakistan. He said the 6th JMC session would serve as an effective platform to review existing projects and explore new joint ventures in sectors of mutual benefit.

“Qatar values its partnership with Pakistan and looks forward to identifying new opportunities for cooperation,” Sheikh Faisal stated.

Both Sides Agree on Closer Coordination

The meeting concluded with an agreement to enhance coordination between the two nations to translate shared goals into practical outcomes. The leaders agreed to facilitate business-to-business linkages, attract foreign direct investment, and ensure smooth implementation of joint projects.

PM Shehbaz also expressed gratitude for Qatar’s consistent diplomatic and economic support and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to working closely with Doha at regional and international forums.
