Ministry Unmasks Anti-Pakistan Indian Media Lies
Islamabad: Pakistanโs Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has exposed a false report by the Indian news agency ANI, calling it part of a propaganda campaign against Pakistan.
According to the ministry, ANIโs report falsely accused Pakistan of ignoring Azad Jammu and Kashmir and suppressing freedom of expression. The report prominently featured Amjad Ayub Mirza, who is linked to Indian fake news networks.
The ministry noted that the European Union DisinfoLab exposed over 750 Indian fake news platforms in 2020, aimed at spreading misleading propaganda against Pakistan globally.
Following the revocation of Article 370, human rights violations and economic decline have increased significantly in Indian-administered Kashmir, while tourism in Azad Jammu and Kashmir has notably risen. Amnesty International reports that over 6,000 illegal detentions occurred in Indian-administered Kashmir, and the Indian government issued fake domiciles to 2.7 million non-local residents, altering demographics.
ANIโs false report is part of a broader state-backed propaganda campaign by Modiโs government to deflect attention from its failures and abuses. Pakistanโs ministry condemned Indian media for spreading lies and destabilizing the region through fake news.
