Pakistan Achieved Success on Every Front in War Against Terrorism, Says Atta Tarar

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Atta Tarar has said that information warfare and the battle of narratives have become extremely important in the modern era.

Addressing an event, Tarar said it was necessary to present Pakistan’s position based on facts and counter misleading narratives effectively.

He said Pakistan had successfully fought terrorism through an effective strategy under the National Action Plan in 2017. The federal and provincial governments, Pakistan’s armed forces and law enforcement agencies worked together to tackle terrorism.

Tarar said Pakistan also adopted an effective strategy on the information front during the Maarka-e-Haq and responded to what he described as baseless allegations by India following the Pahalgam incident.

He said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s offer for an impartial and transparent international investigation into the incident further strengthened Pakistan’s position.

According to Tarar, Pakistani media acted responsibly during the Maarka-e-Haq, while Indian media continued to spread what he described as false propaganda.

The federal minister said more than 90,000 people had lost their lives in Pakistan’s fight against terrorism. He said people from all sections of society had contributed to the fight against terrorism.

Tarar said Pakistan remains active in combating terrorism, while accusing India of being involved in terrorism.

He also said the development of Balochistan has always been a major priority for the government. He said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal remain committed to the rights and prosperity of Balochistan.

Tarar added that the government’s decision to provide funding for the improvement of the N-25 highway had received broad support.
