World Bank Report: Pakistan Part of Fastest Growing Region in South Asia
Islamabad: The World Bank has released a report highlighting strong economic growth in South Asia, with Pakistan joining the fastest-growing economies in the region for the first time.
The report predicts Pakistan’s GDP growth in 2025 at 2.2%, while overall growth for the region is expected at 6.6%. Despite global slowdowns, the South Asian region has shown resilience and positive growth potential.
However, the report also warns of challenges ahead, including uncertainties caused by the rapid rise of AI technology. These developments could pose obstacles for South Asian countries in maintaining growth.
The World Bank emphasized the need for faster economic reforms and market improvements to sustain progress. Concerns were also raised about possible job losses in the coming years if corrective measures are not taken.
