PM Shehbaz, King Abdullah Hold Key Meeting; MoUs Signed in Multiple Sectors

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Jordan’s King Abdullah II held a significant meeting at the Prime Minister House, where both leaders agreed to strengthen bilateral ties and expand cooperation in several sectors.

According to details, Pakistan and Jordan decided to explore new opportunities for partnership in defence, trade, technology, education, investment, and cultural exchange.

Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir also attended the meeting and briefed King Abdullah II on defence cooperation, training programs, and security partnerships.

The two sides discussed regional and global developments, with a special focus on the changing situation in the Middle East and the ongoing crisis in Palestine. Both countries expressed deep concern over the humanitarian situation in Gaza.

Pakistan and Jordan stressed the need for an immediate ceasefire, greater international involvement, and long-term peace efforts. They also agreed to support progress on the Gaza peace process.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif briefed King Abdullah II on the latest situations in Afghanistan and India and outlined Pakistan’s priorities for regional peace and stability.

During the visit, Pakistan and Jordan signed several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) related to media, culture, and education to enhance institutional cooperation between the two countries.

Prime Minister Shehbaz also hosted a special dinner in honour of King Abdullah II.

Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining regular high-level engagements in the future. The Prime Minister said that King Abdullah’s visit reflects the strength of the long-standing friendship between Pakistan and Jordan.
