Veteran International Umpire Khizar Hayat Dies at Age 86
Khizar Hayat, a former Pakistani international cricket umpire, passed suddenly in Lahore at age 86 on Sunday due to having been sick for some time, as family sources reported.
Additionally, Khizar Hayat represented Pakistan Railways in first-class cricket. In the 1970s, he became an umpire and officiated domestic, One Day International, and Test matches.
Khizar Hayat officiated three World Cup matches in addition to overseeing 34 Test matches and 57 One Day Internationals.
Khizar Hayat continued to be involved with the Pakistan Cricket Board following his retirement from umpiring.
