50-Year-Old ‘Sholay’ Bike Displayed in Memory of Dharmendra at Goa International Film Festival
At the International Film Festival of India in Goa, the iconic motorcycle ridden by Jai and Veeru in the film Sholay—a 1942 BSA WBM 20—was showcased in memory of legendary Bollywood actor Dharmendra.
The bike, which featured in the famous song “Yeh Dosti,” has unexpectedly become a symbol of remembrance following Dharmendra’s passing.
According to reports, the motorcycle is placed inside a glass case, attracting fans who stop to admire it, take photographs, and silently reflect on memories associated with the actor. For many, the bike is more than just a piece of film memorabilia; it has become a tribute to Dharmendra himself.

One fan expressed, “We were very happy to see this bike. It reminds us of the 1975 film. Sholay is truly a classic, but seeing the bike today brought both joy and sadness. We have lost a great actor.”
Another admirer shared, “It is very sad that Dharmendra is no longer with us. He was not just a person; he was an era. Seeing this 50-year-old bike today feels like an entire history is missing from among us.”
Following Dharmendra’s death, his final video message also surfaced, further deepening fans’ emotional connection to the actor.
The vintage bike has now become a symbol, serving not only as a reminder of cherished memories but also as a testament to Dharmendra’s legacy and contributions to Indian cinema.
