27 November, 2025 14:03

Comedian and actor Kapil Sharma has addressed the gunfire incident that took place outside his Vancouver cafe earlier this year, sharing his safety concerns and reflecting on the situation.

During a media interaction on Wednesday, November 26, while promoting his upcoming film Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2, the 44-year-old star said, “It happened in Vancouver, Canada, and I think they fired three times. I feel the police may not have the power to intervene there.”

He further explained, “But after that, when this case happened, it went to the federal government, like our central government, and it was discussed in the Parliament of Canada.”

Kapil also offered insight into the broader context of the attack, stating, “So, I think we don’t understand the story behind what God does. But I got a call from a lot of people, that there was already a lot going on there. But it was fired at your cafe, it became news. So now, the police there, the law and order there, they are moving towards improving things there.”

Reassuring his fans about his safety in India, he added, “I never feel unsafe in Mumbai and in my country. Those guys don’t have police like Mumbai.”

This November shooting marked the third attack in four months targeting Kapil Sharma’s cafe in Surrey, Canada, allegedly involving gang members associated with Lawrence Bishnoi, Kulveer Sidhu, and Goldy Dhillon.

On the professional front, Kapil Sharma is preparing for his cinematic comeback with Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2, set to release in theaters on December 12.
