Crimes by Some Afghan Nationals in the U.S. — DHS Reports
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has raised concerns over serious criminal activities committed by some Afghan nationals admitted under the Biden administration. According to DHS reports, several individuals, including those previously reported as fully vetted, were involved in violent crimes such as shootings targeting law enforcement, sexual assaults, and terrorist activities.
Notably, individuals previously listed on terror watchlists, including Jamal Wali and Mohammad Kharwin, were either released or allowed to remain in the United States, only to later engage in violent offenses.
Additional cases cited by DHS include arrests of Afghan nationals Abdullah Haji Zada, Nasir Ahmed Tawhedi, Javid Ahmadi, Bahrullah Noori, and Zabihullah Mohmand. These individuals were apprehended for plotting attacks, committing assaults, or engaging in sexual crimes against minors.
DHS emphasized its commitment to public safety, stating that individuals deemed threats will be removed from the country to protect communities across the U.S.
