Israeli Forces Launch Heavy Bombardment on Gaza, Two Palestinians Martyred

24 July, 2026 11:58

Israeli forces intensified their bombardment of Gaza shortly after issuing evacuation orders, resulting in the martyrdom of two Palestinians and injuries to several others.

The Israeli military issued evacuation orders for four different areas in Gaza and immediately launched heavy airstrikes on the same locations. The attacks targeted residential areas, causing widespread destruction and leaving civilians facing further suffering.

Despite the so-called ceasefire agreement facilitated through US intervention, Israeli aggression in Gaza continues, with intensified attacks reported in several areas including Gaza City, Bureij refugee camp, Jabalia refugee camp, Zeitoun, and Tal al-Hawa.

Residential homes were destroyed during the bombardment, while a devastating fire erupted in the Zeitoun area, creating further fear and panic among Palestinian civilians already struggling under severe humanitarian conditions.

United Nations agencies have warned that the humanitarian situation in Gaza has reached alarming levels, with around 67 percent of Gaza’s population — approximately 1.4 million Palestinians — facing severe food shortages and hunger.

The World Food Programme has described the situation in Gaza as extremely critical, stressing that immediate humanitarian access and urgent funding are required to prevent further suffering.

The ongoing blockade and restrictions on aid have worsened shortages of food, medicine, and essential supplies, while Gaza’s healthcare system continues to collapse under the pressure of continuous attacks and limited resources.

The British Foreign Office has called on Israel to immediately remove restrictions on humanitarian assistance, warning that the continued blockade is contributing to the spread of diseases and further damaging Gaza’s already devastated health system.

Meanwhile, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty held discussions with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, emphasizing the need for the swift deployment of international protection forces in Gaza to help control the deteriorating situation.

According to Israeli sources, around 30 Moroccan security personnel have also visited Gaza as part of discussions related to joining such a force.

However, amid continued Israeli attacks, blockade measures, and destruction, Palestinians in Gaza remain trapped in a cycle of displacement, fear, and humanitarian suffering.
