Kiran Rao stuck at Mumbai Airport due to IndiGo flight delay

06 December, 2025 16:37

Kiran Rao recently shared her chaotic travel experience after what was supposed to be a short trip to Tokyo turned into an 11-hour wait at Mumbai Airport’s Terminal 2.

Posting on her Instagram stories, the filmmaker playfully said she now knew the terminal “inside out” and kept herself busy by checking Delhi’s air quality. Sharing a selfie from her car, she wrote, “By now I should’ve reached Tokyo, but here I am at Mumbai T2, thanks to IndiGo. And now I’m checking how Delhi is doing with GRAP II. Good day, all in all.”

According to News18, IndiGo has been facing problems with delayed and canceled flights for the past four days, affecting many passengers, including celebrities. Lauren Gottlieb, Jay Bhanushali, Nia Sharma, and Rahul Vaidya were among those impacted. Rahul shared that what should have been a routine domestic flight turned into “the most expensive domestic travel” of his life, as he had to juggle multiple boarding passes just to fly from Mumbai to Kolkata for a show.

On Friday, December 5, IndiGo publicly apologized for the disruptions. The airline confirmed that all domestic flights from Delhi Airport (DEL) on December 5, 2025, were canceled due to serious airport problems across India.

In a statement, IndiGo said, “We are sorry to all passengers. We know it’s been a tough few days. We cannot fix everything right away, but we are helping people and trying to return flights to normal fast.”

Passengers are still dealing with delays and cancellations as the airline works to bring its operations back on track.
