Case Filed Against 400 Including Aleema Khan Over Adiala Jail Sit-In
Rawalpindi: A case has been registered against 400 accused, including Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan, for staging a sit-in outside Adiala Jail last night.
The case was registered by Sadr Baruni Police Station under the provisions of the Anti-Terrorism Act against 400 people, including 35 named accused.
Aleema Khan, Noreen Niazi, Qasim Khan, Salman Akram Raja, and Alia Hamza have also been named in the case, while Naeem Haider Panjotha, Tabish Farooq, Tayyaba Raja, Nadia Khattak, Haroon, Raja Asad Abbas, Zafar Gondal, Shafqat Abbas, and Allama Raja Nasir Abbas have also been named.
Section 120 of the Criminal Code for planning a criminal conspiracy to attack the state has also been included in the case.
According to the text of the case, 14 suspects were arrested on the spot last night. The arrested suspects were presented before the Anti-Terrorism Court. The suspects are also accused of violating Section 144 and attacking the police.
According to the text, the accused raised slogans against the government and state institutions and blocked the road; the accused continued to provoke the workers, and the local population also faced problems due to the protests of the accused.
The case further stated that despite being prohibited by the police, the accused continued to interfere in the government. The accused pelted stones at the police and threw glass bottles, and the uniforms of the officers were also torn during their resistance to the police.
