Meteorological Department Forecasts Heavy Rain, Snowfall, and Strong Winds Across the Country
The Meteorological Department has issued a forecast predicting strong winds, rain, and snowfall in various regions of the country.
According to the department, “Today, heavy rain with strong winds and snowfall is expected in mountainous areas, while fog and smog will persist in Eastern Punjab and Upper Sindh.”
The forecast highlights that Islamabad and surrounding areas may experience further rainfall, with Murree and Galiyat expecting rain accompanied by strong winds. Additionally, Rawalpindi, Attock, and Jhelum are also likely to see rainfall.
Several other cities, including Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Multan, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Jhang, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Bahawalnagar, may receive rainfall, while Okara, Sahiwal, Kasur, Khanewal, Khanpur, Bahawalpur, and Rahim Yar Khan are expected to remain foggy.
In Balochistan, some areas may experience further rain, and Sukkur, Rohri, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Benazirabad, and Mohenjo-Daro are expected to see fog.
Northern and northwestern regions, including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Malakand, Buner, and Kohistan, may witness further rainfall, while Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, and Orakzai are likely to see snowfall.
The Meteorological Department also stated, “Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are expected to experience rain with strong winds and snowfall in the mountainous areas.”
Residents are advised to remain cautious and follow local weather updates as conditions may affect travel and daily activities.
