Murree authorities have finalized a comprehensive traffic plan for New Year’s night, canceling all leaves for traffic wardens to ensure smooth traffic management.

A police spokesperson stated that the leaves of all traffic wardens and officers in Murree have been revoked. Special squads of traffic officers and wardens have been deployed across the city to facilitate the public and ensure strict compliance with traffic regulations.

Under the new plan, Mall Road will remain completely closed to all types of traffic. Police will take strict legal action against underage drivers, motorcycle riders without helmets, and vehicles lacking proper number plates.

Murree Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Imran Razaq highlighted that a complete ban on motorcycles will be enforced. “Police will take strict action against one-wheeling and motorcyclists using vehicles without silencers,” he said. Authorities will also monitor vehicles with blacked-out windows or tinted papers to prevent any untoward incidents.

The City Traffic Police are working to provide maximum convenience and safety for residents and tourists alike. The CTO urged the public to follow the instructions of traffic wardens and observe road signboards, emphasizing that adherence to these guidelines is crucial for ensuring safety and smooth traffic flow.

This traffic plan aims to minimize congestion and maintain order in Murree during one of the city’s busiest nights of the year.
