Karachi weather update: Temperature expected to fall further
KARACHI: The cold weather in Karachi is expected to become more severe, with temperatures likely to drop further in the coming days.
The cold wave continues across several cities of Sindh, including Karachi. For the second day in a row, the minimum temperature in the city has been recorded in single digits.
According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature in Karachi may fall to 8 degrees Celsius on Sunday. Experts say the cold conditions could last for a few more days.
Chief Meteorologist Karachi, Amir Haider Leghari, said that the current cold wave may continue until Tuesday. He explained that the increase in cold is due to a recent western weather system.
He said that cold winds usually follow a western system, which makes the weather colder. After the system fully moves away, Siberian winds become active, causing temperatures to drop even more.
Amir Haider Leghari also added that no rain system is expected to affect Karachi for the next 10 days. Residents are advised to take precautions and keep themselves warm during the cold spell.
