LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has approved a Rs47 billion Ramadan Relief Package to help poor and deserving families across the province during the holy month.

The package includes several welfare initiatives such as the CM Ration Card, Nighban Dastarkhwan, and Sahulat Bazaars. These steps are meant to provide food and daily-use items at affordable prices during Ramadan.

Rs10,000 Cash Aid for Families

During a meeting chaired by the chief minister, it was decided that ration card holders will now receive Rs10,000 in cash, which is a big increase from the earlier amount of Rs3,000.

Under this program, around 4.2 million deserving families will be given Rs10,000 each to help them manage household expenses during Ramadan.

CM Maryam Nawaz said that the government wants to make sure no needy family feels alone or ignored in the holy month.

How to Apply for the Ramadan Package

To make the process easy, the Punjab government has launched an online portal and a helpline for applications.

The chief minister said that registration through the PSER system is mandatory. Families can apply:

  • Online from their homes

  • Through Union Council offices

  • At municipal offices

The government says these steps will help ensure timely and fair support for those who truly need help during Ramadan.
