BLA Militants Abduct Woman in Kech’s Balicha Area; Security Agencies Launch Rescue Operation

Armed militants of the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) abducted a woman at gunpoint on Wednesday evening in the Balicha area of District Kech, underlining the continued targeting of civilians by banned militant groups.
According to official sources, the incident occurred between 4:30 pm and 4:45 pm when a Corolla vehicle stopped outside a house in Balicha. Armed BLA militants forcibly took a woman identified as Nargis and fled the scene. This highlights the civilian-targeting nature of BLA operations, which are carried out to instill fear in the masses and exploit women.
The victim’s husband and nephew immediately pursued the vehicle and intercepted it near Nasirabad. When they confronted the abductors, an armed BLA militant emerged from the car carrying a Kalashnikov. Moments later, additional BLA militants arrived on motorcycles to provide reinforcement. The attack, executed in broad daylight with firearms and coordination, reflects organised militant tactics.
During the confrontation, the family members were assaulted and both their mobile phones were confiscated. Such actions demonstrate the use of fear and intimidation by BLA militants, designed to silence witnesses and spread terror in the local community.
The abduction also highlights the vulnerability of women to militant violence, illustrating a consistent pattern where civilians, especially women are forcibly used to further militant agendas or coercion. This underscores the brutal methods employed by banned groups to enforce control.
Moreover, incidents like this expose the selective narratives promoted by BLA-linked proxies, including the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC). Violence committed by militants, showings that terrorist groups are direct contributors to insecurity in the region.
Police and other security agencies have been mobilised for the safe recovery of Nargis. All leads are being pursued to apprehend those responsible.
Officials reiterated that no act of abduction, armed intimidation, or attacks on families can be politically justified. The abduction of civilians, particularly women, is a criminal act that threatens public safety and social stability in Balochistan.
Abduction of Nargis shows BLA continues to target ordinary people. Assault on family members and confiscation of phones demonstrates intent to terrorise the community by BLA. Women are increasingly becoming victims of terror. It also exposes BLA/BYC’s proxy role to push selective “missing persons” narratives while remaining silent on abductions and coercion by militants. Such violence cannot be legitimised under any claim.
