Pakistan releases new guidance on Saudi Hajj visa biometrics
ISLAMABAD: The Federal Ministry of Religious Affairs has shared an important update for Pakistanis planning to perform Hajj.
According to a ministry spokesperson, Hajj pilgrims can now complete their biometric process for Saudi visas from home by using the “Saudi Visa Bio” mobile app. This step is compulsory for getting a Saudi Hajj visa.
The ministry clearly stated that pilgrims who fail to complete biometric verification through the app must visit their nearest Saudi Tashir Center before February 8. Without completing this process, no Hajj visa will be issued under any circumstances.
Pilgrims can also check details and locations of nearby Tashir Centers through the “Pak Hajj” mobile app to avoid any confusion or delay.
Meanwhile, the federal government has officially approved the Hajj Policy 2026, keeping it fully in line with Saudi Arabia’s guidelines. Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, confirmed that Pakistan’s total Hajj quota for 2026 is 179,210 pilgrims.
Out of this number, around 120,000 pilgrims will perform Hajj under the government scheme, while nearly 60,000 pilgrims will travel through private Hajj operators.
The minister added that Hajj preparations are already in progress across the country. Mandatory training sessions are being held in different districts to help pilgrims understand Hajj rituals and travel procedures.
He also shared that about 38,000 pilgrims will leave from Islamabad under the Road to Makkah initiative, which allows immigration clearance in Pakistan, making the journey smoother and more convenient.
