Viral Two-Headed Twins Video on Instagram Exposed as Fake: Here’s the Truth

05 February, 2026 16:00

An Instagram account that rapidly gained popularity by portraying twin sisters as real-life conjoined twins has now been exposed as an entirely artificial creation powered by artificial intelligence (AI).

The account, named Itsvaleriaandcamila, attracted close to 300,000 followers within just two months, largely due to the striking and unusual appearance of the supposed influencers. The profiles presented “Valeria” and “Camila” as conjoined twins sharing one body but having two separate heads and faces, a concept that quickly captivated social media users worldwide.

Launched in December 2025, the account uploaded more than 100 photos and videos, showcasing what were described as everyday moments from the twins’ lives. These posts included travel content, fashion shoots, lifestyle updates, and even discussions about their personal relationships, all framed as authentic experiences.

During a recent question-and-answer session, the twins claimed they had individual stomachs and could feel hunger or thirst independently. They explained that their lives operated through “mutual cooperation.” Addressing questions about their love lives, the account stated that both sisters were romantically involved with the same person.

Despite the detailed narrative, the creators consistently avoided direct confirmation about their real-world existence. While many followers accepted the story at face value, skeptics began to raise concerns over the unusually flawless appearance of the twins and the highly polished visuals.

The truth was ultimately revealed by well-known AI prompt engineer Andrew Hilbert, who confirmed that the influencers are completely digital and generated using AI technology. Hilbert explained that the account was carefully designed with an elaborate storyline to drive engagement and generate online “clout.”

He further noted that the twins’ unrealistically perfect looks reflect an artificial, media-driven beauty standard rather than real human features. Hilbert also highlighted noticeable technical flaws across posts, including inconsistencies in body proportions between images and videos—an indicator commonly associated with AI-generated content.

The revelation has reignited discussions about digital deception, influencer culture, and the growing sophistication of AI-generated personas on social media platforms.
