Huma Qureshi, Imran Khan and Other Bollywood Celebs Support CJP Protests
Many Bollywood well-known personalities voiced to support for Cockroach Janta Part (CJP) ongoing protest. Many expressed their support by sharing statement on their social media handles while some joined protesters on the ground.
Last Wednesday night, at Jantar Mantar, actress Huma Qureshi and Saqib Saleen joing the protest along with actor Rachit Singh, the siblings marched with students who are demanding changes in the education system and calling for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged irregularities.

Also, actor Imran Khan joined the protest march in Mumbai. Videos spread across social media showed him assembly with protesters as they marched through the rain.

Imran’s participation in the protest came a day after he condemned the police action in a strongly worded Instagram post. Expressing his anguish over the events, he wrote: “Something broke in me today. Watching as police gassed and battered student protestors… how could I make sense of this? These students who worked hard, only to be failed by the system. These people who asked to be heard, only to be met with silence. These citizens who stood up to show what matters to them… beaten down and disowned by the establishment.”

Other noticeable Bollywood stars have also show their support online, such as Alia Bhutt Salman Khan, Swara Bhasker, Sonakshi Sinha, Soni Razdan, Zeenat Aman, Naseeruddin Shah, Abhay Deol, Taapsee Pannu, Dia Mirza, Gauahar Khan, Anubhav Sinha, Vishal Bhardwaj, Anurag Kashyap, Rahul Bose, Kunal Kamra and Diljit Dosanjh.
Contrariwise, actress Hema Malini and Kangana Ranaut as a member of BJP have voiced their criticism of the protests while supporting the government’s position.
Thousands of students have taken part in CJP-led protests in Delhi and several other parts of the country. The protesters are calling for better accountability in the education system and demanding Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation over alleged irregularities linked to the NEET-UG question paper leak earlier this year.
