Nancy Guthrie Case: Savannah, Annie, Camron Urge Public Help

07 February, 2026 11:24

The search for Nancy Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of NBC anchor Savannah Guthrie, continues after she went missing from her Arizona home in the late hours of Saturday, January 31, 2026. Authorities now suspect a possible abduction, with no confirmed suspect identified. The family’s concern intensified after Nancy missed a pre-planned Sunday church meeting.

In an emotional video posted on February 4, 2026, Savannah Guthrie appeared alongside her siblings, Annie and Camron, pleading for their mother’s safe return. Savannah stated:
“We, too, have heard the reports about a ransom letter in the media. As a family, we are doing everything that we can. We are ready to talk. However, we live in a world where voices and images are easily manipulated. We need to know without a doubt that she is alive and that you have her. We want to hear from you and we are ready to listen. Please, reach out to us.”

She further expressed concern for her mother’s fragile health, adding, “Mommy is our heart and our home. She is 84 years old. Her health, her heart, is fragile. She lives in constant pain. She is without any medicine. She needs it to survive. She needs it not to suffer.”

Speculation initially arose around Annie Guthrie’s husband, Tommaso Cioni, as he was reportedly the last person to see Nancy. However, authorities quickly dismissed these claims. Annie, 56, is a writer and activist, while Cioni is a science teacher and musician.

Camron Guthrie, a retired F-16 pilot, also addressed the public, urging whoever is holding their mother to communicate immediately:
“This is Camron Guthrie. I have never been more proud of my big brother. We need you to reach out, and we need a way to communicate with you so we can move forward. But first, we have to know that you have our mom. We went to talk to you, and we are waiting for contact.”

Law enforcement continues to investigate, confirming that no suspect has been identified. One alleged ransom note was later debunked, and authorities arrested a suspect, Derrick Callella, from Los Angeles, though the investigation is ongoing.
