Catherine O’Hara Cause Of Death Unveiled

Catherine O’Hara, the comedy star recognized for her impressive roles like Schitt’s Creek, Home Alone, died on 30 January at Los Angeles hospital, at the age of 71, the cause of her death is the pulmonary embolism, her death certificate in the US has revealed. The official cause of death was revealed on Monday, Feb. 9, by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office, as per TMZ. It was shown that she had been getting treatment for her cancer disease since March 2025.

The Canadian diva rose to stardom through Toronto’s Second City improvisation team and on SCTV before making a name for herself in the US in 1988’s Beetlejuice and as the matriarch in the holiday classic Home Alone.

Tributes have poured in for the Canadian actress, who most recently appeared in the Emmy-winning comedy The Studio and The Last of Us.
