Annie Guthrie’s Home Becomes Focal Point in Nancy Guthrie Kidnapping Investigation
The search for 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, mother of Today anchor Savannah Guthrie, entered a critical phase on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, marking the eleventh day since her disappearance on February 1. Over 100 officials, including the Pima County Sheriff’s Department and the FBI, have been involved in the manhunt. Recent law enforcement activity has focused on Nancy’s older daughter, Annie Guthrie, after renewed investigative efforts near her Tucson home in the Catalina Foothills.
Wednesday marked the fourth visit by officials to Annie Guthrie and her husband Tommaso Cioni’s residence, located roughly 10 minutes from Nancy’s home. FBI agents reportedly entered the house with a key and gloves, collecting mail and additional evidence. Investigators have confirmed an “extensive search” is underway, though they have not disclosed the purpose of this latest visit.
Authorities had previously searched the property on February 9 and 10, conducting door-to-door inquiries, combing nearby brush, and even examining a septic tank behind Nancy’s residence. Drone footage showed detectives investigating a culvert in Annie’s neighbourhood, though no significant findings have been publicly announced. Earlier in the case, a security camera from the home and Annie’s car were seized as part of the investigation.
Annie and Tommaso have become central to the probe because Nancy reportedly visited their home on January 31, the night before her disappearance. She had dinner with Annie, and Tommaso reportedly drove her home, making him one of the last people to see Nancy. While some media reports labeled Tommaso as a “prime suspect,” Sheriff Chris Nanos clarified that no official suspect has been named, and neither Annie nor Tommaso are currently persons of interest.
Officials recently recovered an insulated black glove near Nancy’s property, closely matching the one seen on the masked individual captured on her doorbell camera. The glove has been sent for forensic testing to examine DNA, fingerprints, or fibers. Authorities remain hopeful that Nancy “is still out there,” as investigators continue to pursue thousands of new leads generated by public tips.
