Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Launches Ramadan Relief Package 2026

At the official launch ceremony for the Ramadan Relief Package 2026, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that as the blessed month approaches, the government is committed to supporting those in need. Highlighting the spirit of the month, the Prime Minister noted that Muslims traditionally share their resources to alleviate the suffering of humanity.

Under this year’s initiative, Rs 13,000 will be provided to every deserving family, benefiting an estimated 12.1 million families across the country.

Reflecting on past challenges, the Prime Minister criticized the previous quality of food items at utility stores, describing the old purchasing process as “painful” for citizens. He reaffirmed that the government successfully moved away from that outdated system last year. To ensure transparency and dignity, payments to eligible families during Ramadan 2026 will be distributed directly through bank accounts and digital wallets.
