The swearing-in ceremony for Bangladesh’s Prime Minister, Tariq Rahman, is scheduled for February 17. Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal will represent Pakistan at the event.

According to official sources, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is unable to attend the oath-taking ceremony due to a prior foreign visit. However, sources indicate that Prime Minister Sharif plans to visit Bangladesh soon to personally congratulate the new Prime Minister.

Leaders from several nations—including China, Saudi Arabia, India, Turkey, the UAE, Qatar, Malaysia, Brunei, Sri Lanka, and Nepal—have been invited to attend the swearing-in of the Prime Minister and members of Parliament.

Official results from the Election Commission of Bangladesh confirm a decisive victory for the BNP, which secured 209 seats out of 299. Jamaat-e-Islami has emerged as the second-largest party with 68 seats, while the student-led NCP won 6 seats.
