Bobby J. Brown Dies at 62 – Barn Fire Accident Details

Actor Bobby J. Brown, who played a Baltimore city police officer of the same name in the hit HBO series “The Wire,” has died, his representative confirmed Thursday.

On Thursday morning, 27 February 2026, Bobby J. Brown’s death news firstly reposted by TMZ.

The Brown’s talent agency wasn’t disclosed the hit HBO series “The Wire,” actor’s cause of death.

TMZ reported, Brown’s daughter told the portal, that Bobby J. Brown died of smoke inhalation Tuesday after a fire in a barn in Maryland. She said the family believes he did not suffer from the severe burns caused by the blaze.

TMZ claimed that, the Maryland Office of the Chief Medical Examiner confirm The Wire actor’s cause of death was ruled ‘diffuse thermal injury and smoke inhalation’. The cause of death was also ruled an accident, according to the outlet.

According to TMZ, which cited his daughter. His wife, Arlene, was reportedly burned in what has been described as an accident, the tragic fire broke out after Brown entered the farm building to revive a vehicle. Sometime later, by the time Brown called a family member for a fire extinguisher, the structure was already fully immersed.

Brown’s daughter told TMZ he was a sincere in Jehovah’s Witness and that funeral arrangements are being planned.

TMS also claimed that, Albert Bramante, an agent of Brown said, “I am upset and saddened. He was such a good actor and person. He was totally dedicated to the craft of acting and was a joy to work with.”
