Pakistan Raises Petrol and Diesel Prices by Rs 55.55 Per Liter
Following a formal notification, the price of petrol has risen to Rs 321.17 per liter, while diesel is now set at Rs 335.86 per liter. These new rates for petroleum products take effect immediately.
In this regard, “We reject the government’s Rs 55 price hike on petroleum products,” stated Javed Shams, President of the Karachi Traders Association. “The government has unleashed a storm of inflation and needs to come to its senses.”
Shams added that it is excessive to place the entire burden on the public due to poor strategic planning. “In the public interest, we demand that the increase be withdrawn.
Field Marshal Asim Munir, the poor people of Pakistan are looking to you.”
