Britney Spears’ DUI Mugshot Will Remains Private: Here’s Why

Britney Spears’ mugshot will not be released after she was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence earlier this month.

A Ventura County Sheriff’s Office official tells TMZ … the department determined that the booking photo does not fall within their requirements and is considered unrestricted.

We’re told it’s their practice to release booking photos for violent crimes or when an individual is an immediate threat to the public. The charges being brought against Britney do not warrant release in accordance with the policy. So, that’s that.

The pop superstar was taken into custody by the California Highway Patrol at 9.30pm on Wednesday in Ventura County, after weaving in and out of lanes along Highway 101, around 9:30 p.m. local time on March 4. Spears was allegedly driving her BMW on the freeway at an “erratically at a high rate of speed” when California Highway Patrol officers pulled her over.

She was booked at 3:02 a.m. and released approximately three hours later. Her prosecution is scheduled for 4th May. Spears underwent multiple field sobriety tests, and her chemical test results have yet to be released.

According to a TMZ report, the ‘Princess of Pop’ was seen getting extremely emotional behind bars. The report also revealed that the cops found Adderall, which she allegedly purchased in Mexico, when she was pulled over by them on the highway. A punishable offence for possessing such substances at the time, she could be facing jail.

Spears’s manager Cade Hudson, described her arrest as “unfortunate” and “completely inexcusable.” He told Page Six, “Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law, and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life.”

An insider revealed to the outlet that Spears was “crying and very tearful” during her arrest, adding she didn’t want to disappoint anyone, including her fans.
