Pakistan Vows Strong Response After Taliban Drone Attempt

14 March, 2026 05:14

Rawalpindi: On March 13, the Afghan Taliban launched drone attacks targeting various regions in Pakistan. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that the drones were successfully shot down before they could reach their intended targets.

However, the falling debris resulted in injuries to civilians: two children were injured in Quetta, and one person each was injured in Kohat and Rawalpindi.

In its official statement, the ISPR condemned these actions as a “nefarious attempt to spread fear and panic among the public,” noting that such attacks underscore the “terrorist mentality” of the Afghan Taliban. The statement highlighted a contradiction in the Taliban’s actions, noting that while they often portray themselves as victims to garner global sympathy, their proxy groups simultaneously target innocent civilians.

The ISPR emphasized that the people and the armed forces of Pakistan are well aware of the true nature and intentions of these groups. The statement reiterated that Pakistan’s Operation Ghazab Lil Haq will continue until the menace of terrorism is eliminated and the Afghan Taliban cease their hostile actions against Pakistan.

The armed forces remain steadfast in their commitment to defending the nation. “We will continue to defend Pakistan and protect its people from terrorists and their facilitators,” the ISPR stated, adding, “We will never back down in the face of such provocations.”
